With 119 victims in 2015, Jacksonville is the murder capital of Florida.
It was always our intention for GSP to be a movement that individuals can take on as their own. GSP Chicago inspired Julie LaGoy and her son Jack LaGoy to undertake Golden Shoes Project Jacksonville. This was the first project of it's kind and was mentored by the creator of GSP, Kazandra Santana. The LaGoy family is close to the Steenbakers family and are still grieving the loss of Stefano. They saw this an opportunity to honor the life of a dear friend and a way to bring light to what is happening in their city.
Golden Shoes Jax was part of an annual vigil held by Compassionate Families to honor the lives lost to violence.
